ABOUT OUR TEMPLE:
Temple B’nai Israel is the lakes region congregation affiliated with the Union
of American Hebrew Congregations (UAHC), a reform movement, welcoming expression from
traditional to liberal. Temple B’nai Israel was founded at the turn of the
century and has had a Rabbi since the 1920’s. The original building was
dedicated in the late 1930’s, Max Chertok Auditorium was built in 1955 and
the Nathan and Jennie Brindis Learning Center consisting of classrooms and a
library was completed in 2001.
The temple has been a center of Jewish activity ithroughout the
lakes region of New Hampshire
for the past 70 years. We are active participants in an interfaith council
of religious groups within the greater community formed to provide spiritual
and educational experiences. |

ABOUT OUR WORSHIP:
Temple B’nai Israel prides itself on worship services that are warm and
spiritual. Our prayers and religious celebrations "Lunch or Dinner and
Learn" are meaningful and rich
with heritage. Music is an important element of our spirituality and our
Cantorial Soloist, Melody Funk enhances the beauty of these prayers by encouraging the
congregation to participate in singing and chanting of prayers. Prayers are
a comfortable blend of Hebrew and English. |
