Belknap Mill Loon Presentation: On Wednesday, July 6, 2022, the Loon Presentation Committee biologist Kalie Hodges discussed loon behaviors , biology, life history and threats from natural predators or humans. Kalie discussed loon life both on lakes and on the ocean where they over winter. Kalie shared the findings of the Committee’s scientific findings regarding population changes on Lake Winnisquam and Lake Opechee.

The Laconia Conservation Commission is pleased to announce that the Messer Street Boat Ramp will now have a Lake Host present, Fridays - Sundays, for the rest of the summer! 

Lake Hosts help us protect our lakes and educate boaters on the " Clean, Drain, Dry" methods for control the spread of aquatic invasive species.
