On the evening of March 4th at 7:49 pm, Laconia Fire companies responded to Blueberry Lane for a "childbirth". They arrived to find a female patient in active labor and began transport directly to Concord Hospital, as Lakes Region General Hospital no longer has a labor and delivery unit. About 15 minutes into the transport, the ambulance with the crew of FF/P Jason Griffin, FF Dan Doucette, and FF Mark Bitetto pulled over and a healthy baby boy was delivered in the front entrance of New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The ambulance then continued on to the hospital where mom and baby are doing well.
